Just bought a silver 91 Reatta coupe in Virginia and drove it back to PA. It's a great car even with 113,000 miles. I am new to the Reatta and think it's a great looking car and excellent handling. It has three(3) problems I would like to remedy if I can get some input.

1. Left horn button does not work, seems stuck.

2. Remote sending unit for locking/unlocking doors, trunk, etc. will only lock the doors. when I press the unlock button I can slightly hear the selinoid in the door but it won't unlock. Any suggestions on what the problem is and remedy?

3. Control console in driver door for seats, windows, etc. is not snug in the door panel. tried pushing down to see if it would snap in place but didn't work. Is there anything tricky or need to watch when pulling the door panel off?

Hi, Congratulations on your new Reatta. Do the door locks work fine when pushing the door(interior)buttons?, if not then possibly a new actuator is needed and or the mechanism is wearing out (I was able to fix it with a screw). I was having a similar problem and after fixing those two things it started working again. With removing the door panel, make sure to be careful when removing all the switch's, and make sure not to break any of the retaining pin holders. As I found out the hard way. This is a great forum with lots of knowledgeable people. Have fun Reattaing

I don't know about your remote, but I got two new horn buttons for my '91 from Jim Finn (sorry, can't find his email). The originals are prone to fail, but the replacements have a new design. Your switch panel is doing the same thing as mine. I don't let it bother me. Good luck.

I would think that it would be the remote except you can hear the door doing something when pushing the button, so that means the remote is transmitting, any codes from the computer? and check and see if your remote antenna has any cuts anywhere, according to joe schmoe on some Internet site somewhere its the rectangle looking thing in the back window that looks like a defrost line.

You may need to remove the door panel to clean and lube the lock (manual slide) and all the associated linkage? The door control switches are good at coming loose where it mounts to the door panel, Carefully remove the black plastic trim and you will find the screws that hold the chrome metal part to the panel? These screws will loosen over time and need to be retightened. KennyV.

I am also a new Reatta owner. I just bought a red 90 convertible two weeks ago. I apologize for jumping in this discussion but I have a sluggish passenger window. I am also interested in knowing what benefits there are to joining AACA.

PV, hang out here for awhile. Collectivley we are pretty smart about these Reatta's. The AACA won't get you much more. The BCA/Reatta Division? We Will. 35.00/ Year for BCA. 10.00 more for Reatta Div. Money well spent. Plus, you may get to meet some of us. We are all very good looking too.

Hi pvred90!!

The club you should join is the Buick Club of America, (BCA), and the Reatta division.

this exclusive club is dedicated to the Reatta owner.

I'd be glad to sponsor your membership! I'll send you a PM (private message), so we don't "Hyjack" this discussion thread.

Sir,

See my June 1 post on door panel removal for pix and other door info. I just got a '91 and have done some work on it.

Regards,

Jack C.
