Matching Alternator??????

Recommended Posts

I looked and the numbers are:

1100704 37A

9M 3 12VNEG

I also found another that came with the car.

Those numbers are:

1100834 37A

9C21 12VNEG

I'm going through a restoration and would like to keep the car very close to original.

Thanks.

The 834 and 704 are the #s you need to know for a numbers matching resto. 9M3 and 9C21 are date codes which indicate a 1969 manufactured alternator, and those would be critical if you're after a numbers-and-dates matching car. 37A is a 37 amp unit, correct for most non-airconditioned or no electric options cars back then.

I wish I could narrow those number apps down further for you. I've never found me a Delcotron book.

442.com _might_ have the numbers somewhere in the FAQ or tech pages. Worth a try.
