Scott, the center of the correct 64 wheels is 2" and the center painted sections are a flat silver color, not black. Also another way to determine if they are correct is to lay a yardstick across the face of the rim. The center section where the cap goes should be recessed below the yardstick, whereas the later wheels it is taller than the rim face. Sounds confusing, but just lay the rim flat on the ground face up and put a yardstick across it. The center caps you have should be the little flat chrome wafer style with the stamped aluminum Wildcat head disc glued in the center. I have a set of wheels in the building, so here in a bit I will go and check what is stamped on them.

Hope this helps,

Matt

I have three 64 wildcats, two have the waffer type center cap, however the third has a chrome cap with a black base madallion & silver wildcat head embossed. In magazine ads/ 1964 as well as the 1964 buick line book up avail from dealerships same year this second mentioned center cap is shown on all the wildcats. Here's the question - which is the correct center cap.

I had a set of 64 wildcat / rally wheels completly restored by ralley wheel in California. I believe you can find them on the net if you can't let me know : will supply. The guy did a great job and painted the centers the orig med/med dk grey. I remember the cost as very reasonable. I would not reccomend unless very satisfied - top job.
