NO RESPONCE (and some more too, now)

Sure is hard to get any responce at this forum. Are you guys afraid to respond to someone overseas, or is it that you just do not want to sell us anything. I have had several ads in diferent forums, and I have sendt inquieries to many diferent addvertisers but no responce. Exept of course in the WPC Club's(the greatest car club in the world ?)members magazine, the WPC NEWS, where I some times get responce on my wanted ads. And where you also can find my name and address under Directors and club of which I have been a member uninteruptedly for more than 30 years. Hmmm..... just wondered.

Response is quite slow in these forums. Not to worry, its not because you are overseas or anything personal! I guess maybe these "older" model Chrysler product do not have as many enthusiastic gearheads as the later model more performance oriented cars. Be patient, stick around, sooner or later someone will help.

Have you tried the Forward Look forum? There is usually more activity there.

Thank you for reply 65Coronet. I know it is kind of hard to find parts for early '60s MOPARs, but I have e-mailed some addvertisers, but nobody even seem to care to answere my inquieries. I understand that if people don't have any parts, they cannot answere of course. But when they have parts, and they addvertise it, the least of politeness should be to answere someones mail. At least I would, and that is what I do too. YES, I have tried the forwardlook! But I am not able to register. I asked for help first one time, and then they e-mailed me another password from what I originally wanted to use. I tried that, and that did not work ither, and then I asked for help again, and since that I never got one word from them. So I just gave up. And that is also where I found some addvertisers, and e-mailed directly to those that had an e-mail address posted. NO RESPONSE from them ither. So, here I am, sitting up in this God-forsaken country with a bunch of MOPAR projects I can't get done. Not much fun. Thanks again. oldefar (which mean great grandfather in English by the way.

Glad to help Oldefar if I can. Let me know some of the places you wanted to contact. I'll see if I can contact them and maybe I will be able to set something up for you. One thing I need to tell you though, my computer is here at work and I don't have one at home. I am off Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I will not be back again until Monday. If I don't hear from you today or tomorrow I may not be able to do anything until next week. I won't ignore you, but if you don't get a response I'm probably away from the computer.

Just let me know!

What kind of parts are you looking for and for what year and model Mopars. There is a source outside of Atlanta that may have a lot of what you might be looking for.

Thank you very much guys, for your time and effort in trying to help me out. That should really be a much bigger part of this hobby. The parts I need is posted right here on this forum: 4 hard-top doors fit from l960 to 1964 MOPARS (see post). 1960 DODGE Dart parts (see post). 1961 PLYMOUTH parts (see post). Tried to get in touch with e-mail address: salvage04@aol.com about some '60 DESOTO parts, mainly complete dashboard and upper right (passenger) side grill moulding part no. 1903 718 (or whole grille if he did not want to part out grille). And any other 1960 DeSoto parts of interest. Same place addvertised '60 Dodge Dart parts too. Never got an answere back on my inquiery. Also tried an e-mail address in Maryland that addvertised a 1961 Plymouth for $ 795,00. NO RESPONCE.Cannot remember the e-mail address right now, but I found it on the forwardlook site. I will see if I can find it again. Anyway, the REAR hard-top doors from the specified 4 door hardtops, and the '61 Plymouth complete front clip are the most important items right now. Just so I can try to finish this very special "roadster" convertible project before summer. We sure don't have many convertible days in this country. Thanks again guys ! SURE HOPE HEARING FROM YOU ! e-mail address for the 795 bucks '61 Plymouth Savoy 4 door sedan for parts: www.americandreamcars.com/1961plymouth4dr010304.htm Not much of a DREAMCAR this one tho'. NO RESPONCE for me anyway. Well perhaps it was sold to someone that found his dreamcar.

Thank you very much again 65 Coronet for your help. And to you other guys too, that gives me some consolation. I have finally got responce on the 60 DODGE Dart parts, so perhaps we could say I am a bit unpatient. But then again, I have searcht all over for about 3 years for those 60 Dodge parts and approx 5 years for the 61 Plymouth parts, so I don't really know what to say. I must be honest tho' and tell you I had 2 or 3 replys in these years, but their prices were way above my budget. Some people seem to think their stuff is worth its weight in gold. Having had this hobby for so many years, I sure have seen the increase in prices on cars and parts over the years. Especially cars. I heard one of those AAR Cudas were sold for a million U.S. dollars!!!? For me, this is absolutely NOT a business. Just a hobby. A hobby that have given me a lot more than just the cars, and perhaps even more wonderful, all the nice people I have met and visited in the U.S. in search for, and buying parts and cars. Well we'll see what this guy got for my 60 Dodge now. I am really exited. Gee, just like a little kid. And perhaps that is the secret, perhaps that is what keeps the kid in us all no matter how old we get. People some times ask me why I have no music in my car. I then tell them that as long as I can hear the sound from a fresh American V8 engine, that is the sweetest music to my ear. Hmmm, do I get carried away. Thank you very much again guys.

Oh yeah, There is no substitute whatsoever, for a MOPAR!!! MOPAR or NO CAR. I have owned most of the other brands too,so I (think?) I know.

Thanks for that repy Oldefar about the Mopars. I'm pretty much the same way. I do love those old Mopars! I agree about the prices...getting outragious!

My grandfather had a 61 Plymouth! So it is one of my favorites! The styling is considered a bit unusual now but I always thought they were beautiful! His was a 2 door Belvedere coupe. White with a brown interior. I always remember the time he hit a rabbit with the front bumper. Didn't run it over, just knocked it over and it was dead. He bought it home and my grandmother made it for dinner!

Yep, 65Coronet, I sure like them MOPAR cars. The more extreme the design is, the more I like'm. I really like the Virgil Exner era the most. Especially my 1960 DeSoto Adventurer 2 door hard-tops. One with most all options (ex. A/C) but with 383 cid cross-ram induction, all power seats and windows, swivel seats and I can't even remember it all. 68000 miles on it and can't even see anyone have sat in the seats. Paid U.S.$ 1000,- for it in Birdboro, PA back in 1980. I also like the '57 and '58 Chrysler 300 (C & D) with the 392 cid HEMI in them. But never could afford one of those. 390 HP in the '57 C!!! And then they talk about '64 Pontiac GTO with 360 HP as Americas

first real muscle car? I own a '57 Chrysler too, but that's just a Saratoga 4 dor hard-top with the 354 cid V8 Spitfire engine. Used to belong to a former Norwegian Prime Minister, Mr. Einar Gerhardsen in the Labor Party. Same first name as me too. And then I have a couple of '61 Dodges (fins going the wrong way) and a 60 Dodge, all 4 door sedans, but all from the very last days of the Exner era. The newest cars I own is my 2 1980 Dodge Miradas. Which I think is kind of special. One a plain jane with 225 cid 6 syl, but the other one totally loaded with options, even el. sun roof, and 360 cid police engine. Need the LEFT (driver) side door GLASS for this one by the way. (burglars, burglars, burglars) Anyway, most of all I like the cars that was never put into production by Chrysler. I have some litrature on these cars, and if I had the mony I would use a "regular" Chrysler car an customize/convert into some of those experimental car that was never put to production. Poooh, do I get carried away agin. Better hit the sack. Have been shoveling snow for 2 days now, and more is coming tomorrow. In my next life I want to live in a warm country where there is a lot more than 4-5 days of "top down" (convertible) weater. Should've never left California. Take care ya all! Einar in Norway.

P.S. Should be a lot more of those car/rabbit storys, car/whatever storys out here too !!! Think about all the fun we could have here on this mostly serious site.

Helo again 65Coronet.

Hope you had some real good and relaxing days. We all need that every once in a while. Personaly I belive most people work TO MUCH. Life is actually so short, and all we do is work, eat and sleep most of the time. I was disabled more than 20 years ago because I worked to hard in my younger days. Some times 3 days (72 hours in my teens) straight with no sleep. 24 to 48 hours hard work with no sleep was not unusual. And we cannot bring anything with us in the "box" when we go. That is why I realized how valuable leisuretime is after I got disabled. My disabelitypension is not much, but it gives me enough to manage, and still do the things I enjoy the most.

Anyway, would you belive I just wrote a reply a few minutes ago, and then it all got lost when I clicked "continue" and then the whole page was lost. It has taken me more than one half hour to get back. I wrote about all the nice people I have met and visited through this hobby. And that I did not get depressed because of no luck finding parts. I am used to it through all these years with searching for parts. And that people like you helping me out makes up for all the downs anyway. Please don't spend to juch time on this. I am sure you have thinhs to do of your own. I want you to know that what you do is very much appreciated. THANK YOU! I will get back to the stories on the WHAT ABOUT A GOOD STORY post later. Einar.

Hello Einar:

You sound to be well informed about Chryslers and USA parts sources but just in case I will include here names of several midwest parts suppliers who deal exclusively in MOPAR parts and cars. I have only dealt with one (Murray Park) and he was reasonable price wise and had just what I needed for my 78 New Yorker, good fast turn around service.

Murray Park, 4369 S. Twp. Rd. 151, Tiffin, OH 44883, 419-448-0293.

Mopar City, 6309 Brick Rd, Oregon, IL 61061, 815-732-7751.

Texas Acres, 347 Circle Dr, Killeen, TX 76542, 254-628-9927, www.texasacres.com

I don't have any connection other than being a customer with these folks, they are current advertisers in Mopar Collectors Guide magazine (www-moparcollectorsguide.com). No Chevy or Ford stuff allowed. Oh yes, besides Studebakers I have a great 1978 Chrysler St Regis, photo attached. Stude8

WOW! What a beautyful car Stude8. Lovly colour too. Can't have driven this car many miles? I love those consealed headlights too. I had a 1969 DODGE Charger R/T (that I was stupid enough to sell to go to the Phillipines to get married, of all things. The wife didn't last long, but the car would have)) that also had those consealed headlight. I have a friend here in my hometown that is dreaming about getting one of those early 1970s IMPERIAL with consealed headlights. He owns several MOPARS too. One of them being a 1956 Chrysler New Yorker St Regis 4 door hard-top with the 354 cid HEMI that I found, bought and sendt home for him from just outside outside Chicago IL. I had to drive it from there to Baltimore MD with hardly any brakes at all, to ship it out. All these trips I have made to the U.S.A. buying cars and driving them some times for thousands of miles to a shipping port, have been real exiteing.

Anyway, THANK YOU very much for the addresses to the parts dealers. If i'm not all wrong, Murray Park also advertise in the WPC NEWS. I have never tried to get in touch with him, but now I will. Best Regards, Einar.

Hi guys!

Just wanted to thank you all very much for helping me on this matter. Some deals are pending. The '61 Plymouth for sale at dreamcars vould have been a really nice partscar for me, but was allready sold for $ 795,00. At least I got an answere from them. I guess I just have to keep on trying. The REAR 4 door hard-top DOORS are very important now, so I can get started on my '61 DODGE 4 door sedan to convertible custom project. THANKS, Einar.
