Ok Thanks for having me, I'm the new owner of a 1928 4 door studebaker something. Commander I believe. Its got chrome trim on the cowl, and double body lines that meet to a single body line on teh cowl and on wrap around on the rear. wheel base is 120 or 121 inches.

I need the rear passenger fender, now my question is did stude sedans have the same rear fenders? if so I dont care if it is from a another year.

I need the rear passenger door, now I have mine buts its pretty hacked up but fixable

and I need a the windshield tip out holder thing lol.... I need the piece that actually holds the glass and swivels out. I know these were made of pot metal and dont usually last, is there an aftermarket source?

I have the front end of this car I beam, spindles, drums, outter caps (little damaged though) For sale or trade my phone number is 1-208-587-9204 and email is Gyva02@yahoo.com if you can help thanks guys...

Mike

From what I see here, my educated guess is that that it is a 1928, no way of telling what model, Dictator, Commander or President. The clue that it is not a 1929 model is the windshield crank hole in the center of the dash. In the 1927-1928 models, the windshield crank was located in the center of the dash in the 1929 models the windshield crank was moved to the header above the windshield. If you have both front and rear axles still in place (cannot tell from the pictures), you can measure the wheelbase and that would help to determine the model.

If you do not mind a suggestion, this car looks a little to far gone to restore. At the prices that a 1920?s Studebaker will bring today (especially four door sedans) it will cost far more to restore the car than you can currently pay for a older restored model that you can buy and drive today. If the car was anything other than a sedan, and a Studebaker, it might be worth restoring, but the economic reality is that it is an expensive long-term restoration.

Its not to far gone for what I want to do with it, I will weld in dropped floor, I have some really cool 1927 buick fenders that have a nice hot roddy look, along with matching raidiator shell. I plan on taking out 4 inches outta the top and installing push button pop doors. after market steering cloumn, aftermarket front end, really hot chevy 350 woth edelbrock tunnel ram and 2 4 BBL hollys all sticking up outta the enging bay, no hood or hood sides required <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> lol.... it'll be one bad Stude lol kinda.... ust need that dang rear fender the windshield goodies, and the door I can probably fix. But to answer my question did studebaker install the same 28 style rear fender on other cars so I can broaden my search.... thanks guys

Mike...
