Guest
Can anyone with a manual tell me what a code of B 111 means? I tried retrieving the codes for the first time, and this is what I got for current. The car was running fine, then just stopped suddendly, as if it ran out of gas! Would not restart or even act if it intended to. Would like to avoid the dealership if possible!! 89 coupe, 93,000 miles. All help welcome! Thanks
wheresjim
B-111 is High side AC temperature circuit problem. Most likely not the cause of your problem (though who knows with the way these cars are set up). I posted a copy of the diagnostics manual online, and the BCM codes are at http://www.geocities.com/captaincelt/ReattaDiagnostics/page05.jpg theres an index for all of the pages at http://www.geocities.com/captaincelt/ReattaDiagnostics/
.
You may want to list all of the codes, even the history ones. Even though they show up as history, they may in fact be current, but intermittent problems.
From the vague description it could be a myriad of things, but the most common causes of these symptoms are failures of the fuel pump, ECM, Ignition Module, Coil Pack, or crank sensor. Let us know all of the codes present and maybe we can narrow it down.
Also if you haven't tried to start the car after it has cooled down from when it stalled, try that and let us know what happens.
------------------
Jim Gough
www.esprinkles.com
www.reatta.org
harry yarnell
Check for spark. Next, check fuel pressure at the Shrader valve on the fuel rail, should be 35# or greater.Diagnostic trouble codes rarely tell you why a car won't start. These two checks will point to the most likely failure (ignition module or fuel pump).
