Pete Phillips
I was asked this question today by the engine instructor at McPherson College. He has a 1955 Buick V-8 engine which he thought was a 322, but upon measuring the cylinder bores, it turns out to be a 264. Stroke is the same in both engines. He asked me if the same block was used for the 322, and if so, he wants to bore this 264 out to make a 322. My reply was that I thought they were the same, but I would like to hear from someone more knowledgeable about rebuilding these engines, than I am, to confirm my guess. THANKS!Pete Phillips, BCA #7338
old-tank
PeteThe answer is no. Buick used a different casting for the two engines.Willie
