scott12180
Hi all,I have a Stewart Warner vacuum tank on my Packard and would like to have a gascolator to go with it.The gascolator is a glass bowled fuel filter that attaches directly to the fuel inlet on the vacuum tank lid. They are nice because not only do they provide some filtering, but you can watch the gas flow into the tank so you know it's working.Any ideas on where I can find one? Thanks,--Scott Troy, NY
1937hd45
Are they smaller than the glass bowl filter that is available for Model A Fords? Snyders lists them for @25.00. You might want to look at old Locke lawn mowers, they used a smaller version of one.
Guest De Soto Frank
Carter also made "in-line" sediment bowls, which I have seen on a variety of old cars over the years...The Carter units are usually attached to the carb inlet with a 1/8" npt close nipple. While not a "S-W Gascolator", it would do the same thing...I think the Tillotson sediment bowls usually found on Gravely tractors and other farm equipment might not pass enough volume of fuel for a big Packard engine...
