Restorer32
Need help deciphering the data plate on a 1979 Trans Am to determine factory colors (two-tone). Car was originally silver so I'm assuming the SIL 530044 on the data plate is significant but my paint supplier can't correlate it with anything. Thanks! novaman
On the body tag located on the firewall the paint code is the series of numbers before PNT on the right side of tag in the 2nd line. If the is only one pair of numbers the car was single tone. Two pairs the first is upper color then lower color for two-tone. The numbers after TR on the left side of that same line are the code for the interior. The paint code for a silver or gray are 15=Silver Irid, and 16=Gray(Tow-tone only). Restorer32
Checked the tag. Second line is 152 15L16U.L. nothing else. # seem right for the colors though.
