Charles2
Same situation in Green Valley, Arizona, mostly on cars from the rust belt states. But, assuming the question is serious, yes; Chevrolet had standard, factory-installed, self-cancelling turn-indicators startng in 1953 as I recall. Prior to that, turn indicators were a dealer-installed option (or an aftermarket accessory).
Peter J.Heizmann
Shop Rat...Are you responding to Joe Werner's identical thread question by starting a new thread? Though you are using humor, Joe's question requires answers from someone.Moved to Tech Questions area.Peter J.
Shop Rat
Peter, I was trying to stay out of trouble for hijacking his thread while putting a humorous reply. That is why I put Re: in front of mine and did not respond right under his, that would have been a hijack . I thought this was what you wanted us to do to not hijack serious questions, but still be able to respond. If I got it wrong then please clarify what I should have done. Just trying to adhere to the rules.
Just Bill
They are supposed to. There are two prongs sticking down from the steering wheel that are supposed to return the lever mechanism. They often break or get bent out of shape. They are replaceable. Or the plastic fingers that engage these prongs break or wear out.
