  1. A car is only original once, but it can be restored many times. Leave the paint as is on that treasured old classic if it does not threaten the body with rust.
  2. They are supposed to. There are two prongs sticking down from the steering wheel that are supposed to return the lever mechanism. They often break or get bent out of shape. They are replaceable. Or the plastic fingers that engage these prongs break or wear out.
  3. Thanks, that is what I thought it might be. Kind of an anti-bump steer device???
  4. Restoring a 36 Plymouth woody, 1 of 3 that we know of. Poor condition, but improving. Roof, front door hinge posts and all wood behind back doors is sawdust. My question is about the front suspension. On the drivers side front spring, rear spring hanger, there is a strange arrangement for hanging that corner of the spring. Does anyone know its' purpose??? It is not a simple bolt and bracket/bushing like the other side, but several swiveling brakets with grease fittings.
  5. Restoring a 36 Plymouth woody, 1 of 3 that we know of, poor condition but improving. My question is about the front suspension, or part of it. On the front drivers side spring, rear spring perch there is a strange looking arangement for anchoring the rear of the spring, not just a simple bolt arrangement like the other side. Can anyone tell me about this?? Purpose?? Very complicated way to anchor a spring.
