DKY
Joe, offhand I'm not sure but if it's the same removal method as the 39 Chevy I will check my shop manual tomorrow when I go down to work on my car. I'll post it tomorrow if you don't get an answer by then.

DKY
Joe, I may not be much help. I checked my owners mannual and there is a listing for Door Trim Removal however it does not state how to remove the handle. I checked my handle on my 39 chevy and there appears to be no set screw. It appears to be pressed onto the remote control handle but I'm not positive
Guest De Soto Frank
If there's no set screw through the center, then there is probably a "hair-pin" spring clip behind the handle, like later GM cars...Push back on the little trim rosette behind the handle (push it into the door panel), which should expose the shank of the door handle - see if you see the spring clip..."Help!" makes a little tool that slides behind the handle and pushes the clip out of the handle, allowing it to pop-off; you can also bend a little hook in a 6-inch piece of bailing wire, and catch the loop of the spring and pull the clip out that way.The window crank is usually held on the same way.
