chris&jp
i have finally completed the over haul on my 64 wildcats original 401 motor, and it is sweet, anyway, while i had the original motor at the machinist, i had an other 401 motor out of a 64 cat sedan in the convert, its an ok motor that drops some oil , but has been running good for 10 years. i dont really know what i am going to do with it, but someone has offered to trade me for a running 350 chevy motor.is this a wise trade? Centurion
Welcome to the Buick Club's forum, cp! We look forward to hearing more about your '64 Wildcat.I would never trade a Buick 401 for a Chev 350. Chev 350's are everywhere and nothing special. In contrast, a Buick 401 is becoming increasing difficult to find and is a unique and highly-regarded engine.I suspect that you would have no problem selling the 401 for cash if you wish to do so, but I would pass on the Chev 350. JohnD1956
I agree with Brian. I don't know what you planned to do with the Chevy motor, but if you were just going to store it, I'd just store the spare 401 instead.
