I think finding a NOS will be very difficult. You are more likley to find used.

Also, my radiator shop guy has a catalog from a company that makes replacement heater cores for older cars. They even show a round core for the 1940's to 50's under the seat heaters.

Not cheap, but available.

Hey Bill--

why not get a competant radiator shop to build you a new core? I had mine redone last year locally, and tho I don't really consider $85 to be especially reasonable, at least it's done and appears to be a quality job.
