akrussell
I'm looking for a source for replacement "Silent-U" bolts for the leaf springs my 1933 Reo chassis. I was able to save one or two during the teardown of the car but others had to be cut off. I understand several brands of cars use these in that era. Does anyone know who may sell these? Thanks
ply33
"Silent-U" spring shackles were used on Chrysler products during and after this same period of time, so you might try "the usual suspects" for Chrysler and Plymouth parts: Andy Bernbaum, Roberts Motors, etc.But the first place I'd try is Rare Parts out of Stockton, California. They have a policy of having every suspension part for every American car. If they don't have it and you have enough of a part to use for drawings, then they will make it and add it to their inventory. Their web site is at:http://www.rareparts.com/Recently they started manufacturing the drag link for my car which saved me a lot of effort getting one custom made. As I recall, their catalog shows the Silent-U bolts and bushings for my 1933 as well.
