Hi;

Could use some help to identify some wire wheels I purchased in a large lot. Was looking for a few 1935 wires for my pickup and came home with 5 truckloads of wheels.......415.....all kinds. Does anyone know of a book to identify 1928-1935? wire wheels?

A couple of mystery wheels....and I have several...are two wheels marked A/R. Another set of wheels is 17 inch, 3.5 inch width, 6.5 inch hubcap hole, 5x5.5, and has what appears to be built into the inside corner a stainless beauty ring. Any and all help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry...no knock-off style wires. Thanks for the offer of posting photos. Most likely the best way of getting a true identification of some of these wheels. I shall post some pictures soon. Sure hope the members don't get tired of seeing the "Mystery Wheel of the Week". It could last a year.

Hi, McKay...

No, we won't mind seeing a Mystery Wheel every week. That's the purpose of this Forum. Please post the photos in the Tech Questions section. Now, if you are going to post photos in order to sell them, please put in the Buy/Sell.

This will save the Moderators from having to move them for your benefit...

We would all like to see photos, you might have the one we are looking for.

I have a wheel vendor catalog dated 1942 that goes back to about 1929 but it has no photographic illustrations, they are listed by make, then tire size rim diameter and mounting bolt pattern diameter and bolt count.

They don't list spoke count either. It also doesn't account for whether the mounting bolts are exposed around outside of wheel cover or concealed beneath wheel cover (1928-29 and 1930-31 styles).

If you list wheels by outside diameter, mounting bolt count and pattern diam along with spoke count and hub cap opening diam you will get everything a hunter will need to feedback application. I suppose noting if it is a snap ring or fixed rim would also help. Stude8
