Blower Fan Module

Reatta just popped the blower module (can remove with brace in place but must pop off connectors first). Could use a spare. Seems all GM cars use the same one (6 pages on acdelco.com).

Note: original part number was 16047800/AC 15-71453 but seems to have been superceeded by 12484912/15-72530 (what is on the ACDelco page). Can somone verify that this is a good replacement ?

Thank you, is something I need to look into. The 88-89 CRT indicates three fan speeds: low-auto-high yet that same module in our 90 Bonne has five speeds. This brings up some interesting thoughts I need to check out>

1) many people compain about low air flow. Is "High" really max ? The High signal to the module in a warmish garage was 9v. Blower is rated for 12.

2) the module indicates that it accepts a variable signal. Wonder how many steps "Auto" has. Is the 89 different (BCM is) ?

I've noticed a number of "slipstreamed" changes between 88 and 89 that are not documented and a number of Reatta-Riviera interchanges (like the compass) that are also not there. Can understand why no twilight sentinel (works only when lamp unretract is selected ?) but not why no "single wipe" selection for wipers.

Another project not yet gotten around to is replacement of the relay chassis in front of the air filter with one from an '89 and changeover to '89 fan harness so that both fans turn at LO postition instead of just one (vital to good a/c operation).

Have lots of projects, just no time and spent most of the two week circle trip installing wireless LANs at friend's houses (CompUSA just had Belkin 802.11b wireless/4 port routers for $29.95) & setting up web sites (if available takes five minutes to register a top level domain).

Have been tempted to just start a LAN business locally so would not be travelling constantly.

Oh well maybe the horse will learn to sing.

A place I go in the Carribean has a Night Club/ Dinner Theatre establishment on a very wee island in Trellis Bay, BVI called the "Last Resort"

British couple run the place and Tony does a "One Man" Floor Show, plays an assortment of Instruments (Musical),sings, etc. They have an assortment of pets, parots, dogs etc. goats but most remarkable was the mule (quote connection) who's stall had an open window into the Dining Room, he apparently sang (to some degree) apparently died of a liver disorder likely a consequence of his inbibing of Tony's liquor

The '90 Reatta, and I imagine the '91 too, does indeed have five fan speeds available, as well as the "auto" position. I will check the commanded voltage to see what it does. If you could just figure out how to access the multiple speeds through the CRT they are probably available.

I used the diagnostics and found these commanded voltages at the five different speeds: low=5.0, med.low=6.2, med.=8.1, med.high=11.2 and high=13.6. Hopes this helps
