Air Filter Element

I believe that all Lincoln air filter assembles were of the oil bath type. They did use a prefilter that looked like steel wool sandwiched between 1/4 " hardware cloth to keep out small rocks and birds from the carb. Perhaps you could make up a suitable replacement.

I checked my parts book and it lists a 06H 9600 A , for l940 and a 06H 9600 B for l940 - 41, this was replaced with 06H 9625 A which provided for a tube between the Intake manifold and the air cleaner, this was replaced by 26H 9625 A which is the standard Lincoln air cleaner.

Thanks for the replies. I guess you do call it a "prefilter" element since it is an oil bath type filter. I will contact Roy to see what he has. The one I have on the car now doesn't look too bad. Maybe it can be cleaned. I just wasn't sure if it was the correct style for that year.
