theconvertibleguy
have never seen a passanger windscreen before. That's kind of wild. Not a fan of the exterior colour but that's an awesome looking car
Reynard
I will play "Critic" even though I am by no means a Packard authority, just an interested enthusiast. Were chrome wire wheels originally available for this series? I have always understood they were a limited option on some 1951 and later models. Some after-market vendors manufactured them too. I really don't care for the appearance of that wind guard for the back seat passengers, rare or not. I'd hang it on a wall in the garage with other Packard collectibles or sell it. The accessory bumper guards would probably hang right next to the wind deflector if I couldn't find another Packard owner who thought he needed them. The spotlights and the Trippe lights would be the next to go, followed by the compass, the overhead traffic light prism on the dash and the curb feelers. I also am questioning the interior. It may be the lighting, but the front seat appears to be a darker, richer color than the back seat. The top of the front seat backs appear faded and even split at the corner seam. An economy patch job? The sun visors are faded and dry looking too (see below). The black canvas top boot seems to fit poorly. Maybe a mail-order piece, not custom fitted. Paint? Yes, an original color, but a re-spray with the hood (and probably the doors and trunk lid) closed. Last, it also appears to be for sale at "Post War Classics.com" for $46,000... https://www.postwarclassic.com/564985-1950-packard-super-eight-deluxe-convertible ...and previously listed and reported "sold" on "Classic Cars.com" for $70,000. Steve_Mack_CT
This car is in Dragone's inventory. It's pretty nice but been in their showroom for a year as I took this Picture when poking at it at their Iron Range swap just about a year ago. Reach out to Alex I bet they can still wiggle a bit. 1
69merc
No top up pics? That's a red flag. Checked Dragone's website, and they have one pic with the top up, but not with the windows up. If something is really a convertible, I like to see it convert! Edited June 25 by 69merc Found a top up pic (see edit history)
