Loco 90
Hi, A friend is in need of a good camshaft for a 1927 Buick Master. Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks, Ben
Roger Barrett
Look for one from a 1928 engine. That year the cam profile had superior performance and was less noisy than the earlier cams.
Hubert_25-25
A note about camshafts. You want to find a shop that already has the camshaft profiles. If you don't have a shop that already has this information, they will charge you to develop it. That saves several hundred dollars in getting a camshaft restored, just knowing who has done them in the past. There are a few places across the country that also already have the profiles so it pays to shop around and ask. Egge Machine in California has the profiles for these early Buick camshafts. They will weld onto your camshaft where needed, and then reprofile the cam lobes. You could perhaps ask if they could do a 1927 camshaft with the 1928 profile? Delta Cam in Tacoma WA also had the cam profile for 1925 Buick Standard. Likely others. Hugh 2
