Indy big guy
The latch on the driver's door of my 46 Lincoln Continental will not latch. The "Y" area is pointing straight down and should be more at the 3 o' clock position. Pictures of what I'm referring to as well as the inside of the door. Edited March 4 by Indy big guy Picture not needed (see edit history)
31nash880
Try pulling the handle and move latch to correct position.
marcapra
Sometimes door latches need a new internal spring to make the door handle go up after you turn it down to open the door. That is the problem I'm having now with my 48 DeSoto. I got an NOS spring on Ebay. THE HARd part is unscrewing the door lock cylinder set screw. They are always rusted tight, so you have to drill them out.
Indy big guy
Thanks for the advise. I was able to fix it. It was as simple as pushing in the pushbutton opener and pulling the latch up. Things are never that easy.
