Thanks for the advise. I was able to fix it. It was as simple as pushing in the pushbutton opener and pulling the latch up. Things are never that easy.

The latch on the driver's door of my 46 Lincoln Continental will not latch. The "Y" area is pointing straight down and should be more at the 3 o' clock position. Pictures of what I'm referring to as well as the inside of the door.
