1947 Mercury Monarch convertible - 25k CAD - Hamilton, Ontario, Canada - Delisted

So this is the reason why I was asking about '47 Monarchs a bit ago. Went to have a look at this one while looking at another a few months ago. Here's the writeup from the seller.

This 1947 Ford Convertible is a classic car with only 7507 miles on the odometer. It features a flathead V8 engine producing 100 horsepower and a manual transmission with rear-wheel drive. The exterior is a beautiful tan color while the interior is brown with a split bench seat for 6 people. This car has had 2 previous owners and has not been registered overseas. It has not undergone an independent vehicle inspection and does not have service history available. Other features include an engine size of 239 cubic inches, gasoline fuel type, and right-hand drive. Wheelbase is 118 inches Curb weight is 3398 lbs Adjustable valves There are 5 left in Canada of these rare convertibles Also have hundreds of spare parts Unfortunately we have a corroded piston, car doesn't run

It does need a bit of work, especially the engine, and I have no idea where you'd get parts for them unless you did them yourself with your local millwright. Would be a talking piece though.

Nope. Standard flathead Ford V8.  Very good parts and club support.  

Early Ford V8 club.
