Saving a post before posting

Often I find when writing a new post or answering another, I need to save what I have written before posting. This could be because I want to find something in a resource, such as a photo or go and take a new photo. I find I always don’t have 100% of the information at hand.

 

Is there a way I can start a topic and save it as I go BEFORE I post it?

 

At the moment I find I have to do several edits to achieve this which is not always ideal.

No way to save before posting.

Edit it externally in a text editor, then copy/paste it when you're ready.
