Teddy Ty Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 We have a 1928 Pontiac that now requires registering with the UK authorities. We have the paperwork from Denmark where it lived from 1929. It has been stored for over 50 years. We need to find the serial number to check against the paperwork, can anyone tell us where to look. We found the body number 8240 stamped on the wood floor by the passenger seat. The chassis is thick with grease which has protected it, before we start to scrape it off we would like to have an idea where to start, if that is where it should be? Can anyone help please? Thanks, Jan
pont35cpe Posted December 27, 2023 Posted December 27, 2023 May have been registered with the engine number..
Teddy Ty Posted December 27, 2023 Author Posted December 27, 2023 The 'chassis' number is on the Danish paperwork but we will need to find it on the vehicle to show our "DMV" that the paperwork is correct for this vehicle. We cannot register it on the engine number. Thanks
pont35cpe Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 I can`t find anything from `28, only early `30s. 1930-1934: Right side of rear crossmember or under left front fender
