Jolly_John
These are the real NOS deal, guys...from back in the day. I bought these decades ago to use with my 1930's BUICK's. Problem is I kept buying and buying them at swap meets! So, I have FOUR NOS adjustable ones available now. The frame pieces slide to adjust to accept all sizes of license plates, INCLUDING the long, skinny ones from the 1920's. These are chrome-plated. Again, I have FOUR of the ribbed-look, NOS adjustable frames available. Feel free to buy one or more. The price is $85 each, plus the shipping. NOTE: Some to the photos show a matching ribbed bracket for holding the top of the license plate frame. These chrome-plated center brackets aren't needed in many installations. I bought these separately over the years. A center bracket is NOT INCLUDED in the $85 price of the frame. I believe I have two of them on the shelf. They are $10 each, if you happen to want one, when you purchase a frame. Edited January 13 by Jolly_John (see edit history)
Jolly_John
An update, Gang. One of these nifty NOS adjustable license plate frames has been spoken for. So, there are THREE AVAILABLE. Thanks for looking again, John
West Peterson
Those would be from 1941 and later, that's when the triple ribbed versions appeared. Before that, they were single-ribbbed.
Jolly_John
Very interesting, West. Was the GM Accessories part number the same for the single-ribbed frames vs. the triple-ribbed frames? Never know about this distinction, and I suspect most folks (including AACA or BCA judges) wouldn't either! Thanks for posting. John
West Peterson
With soooo many of the incorrect triple-ribbed frames on prewar cars these days, I'd bet 999 people out of 1,000 don't know the difference anymore.
Jolly_John
I agree with your comment, West. And, perhaps it doesn't matter that much (one rib or three) at this point in time. But, still a teaching moment, as they say. John
Brass is Best
These look great on most cars. We have several in use right now.
Jolly_John
Very nice of you to take the time to post, Andrew. Your car is wonderful in appearance, and the license plate frames seem to be very harmonious with the look of your vehicle. My thanks to you for sharing. Jolly_John
Another one of these NOS vintage adjustable license plate frames has been spoken for. So, we're down to TWO AVAILABLE. I also have two of the NOS center top brackets available. Thanks for looking again. John
