Bob Lapham
I am asking if any member has the data (tables or graphs) for the distributor advance versus distributor RPM for the 1929 La Salle? This is requested to install the correct springs on the centrifugal advance weights. (I suspect, but do not know, that the same data for the 1929 Cadillac V-8 would be similar). edinmass
Hello, I have all that info in my shop. Check your diecast material on your distributor as they are very prone to cracking and swelling. Often times the advance doesn’t work because the casting has expanded. The proper way to set up the distributor is on a distributor tester. You can check synchronization, gap, dwell, and advance all at the same time. Also check the bushing for the cam lobe…….most often they are loose and can cause lots of issues. I will send you a PM because you’re new here the system won’t let you send one out. It will have my email address in it. Best, Ed Edited October 28, 2023 by edinmass (see edit history)
Peter R.
Here are the 1929 LaSalle data. The 1929 Cadillac data are the same as they‘re using the same distributors.
