mrsuggestion
63 Riviera with new V regulator. Amp light came on dimly after driving for about 15 minutes and stayed on for a minute or two, then went off as I pulled into the driveway. Charging voltage is about 14.3V at idle. When I connected the charger, the battery was fully charged. Battery is less than 2 years old and was over 13 volts with car off. Alternator belt tension seems fine. Any advice what else to check? Thank you. Matt
psychostang
Could be a worn or loose connection. Possibly one of the diode's in the rectifier is failing. Didi you have the problem before the new regulator was installed ?
1965rivgs
Make sure the metal terminals in the connector at the regulator are bright metal clean with good tension....clean, bright and tight! Tom Mooney

abandg
My amp light was on and would not go off even though the voltage was OK. I changed the regulator with an original one and removed the solid state one and the light went out. Go figure.
