John E Mitchell dash air conditioning fan unit

It's out of an estate,nobody had any idea what vehicle it came out of. Appreciate any help.

It’s an aftermarket Mark IV unit.  
basically universal but of course minor adaptations to fit under the dash on particular vehicles.  
 

The big blower unit sits on the transmission hump.  And then the controls are near the driver.  The long thin plentum might allow mounting the blower closer to the passenger side if needed.  
notice that the plentum can be easily removed and reconfigured.

Thankyou very much. That all makes a lot of sense. I have another one I'll be putting on,different brand,probably aftermarket also.
