For sale is this 74-year-old diamond-in-the-rough. This is a 1949 Packard 22nd Series 4-Door Touring Sedan. It originally was a one-owner car from Virginia.
This all-original 74-year-old jewel has been kept in storage for most of its years. So, it is in relatively good condition. It still needs things, most of which can be found in the car's trunk.
Although this car can start, it needs transmission repairs, brakes, window glass, and a headliner. There are transmission parts and replacement glass in the trunk. It even has a replacement steering wheel. It has original factory paint; it is a factory Arizona Beige. This paint in areas on the car has worn thin. It does have some minor surface rust around the trunk and doors.
This car has a straight-line 8-cylinder engine, RWD 3 Speed on the column. I am looking for a good home for this car. This car could clean up well for the right person and potentially be a show car.

Note: According to Packard 1948-1950 by Robert J. Neal, the 22nd Series continued into the first part of the 1949 model year comprised cars built after November 1,1948 to April 1, 1949, when the 23rd Series 1949 models began. The Data Plate Serial No. 2252-9-#### first two digits tells us its a 22nd Series, "52" that is a Custom Eight and -9- that its a 1949 model. This was the topline Packard sedan, which was factory priced at $3,750, is powered by the nine-main-bearing 356 ci straight eight. Only 810 1949 22nd Series Custom Eight touring sedans were built.
