Great , and rare, example.

Dad bought one - the identical (originally) black 1942 Stylemaster DeLuxe Sport Sedan model, well used - in 1950 - barely running, and with a maroon powder puff paint job. We hand stripped it and by early 1951 we had repainted in our own garage with a borrowed compressor - with 19 coats of hand-rubbed black lacquer, got a new short block from Sears, and I learned how to do a proper 3-angle valve job. The vacuum shift was a neat option, and the flattened shift knob always looked cool as Dad effortly shifted it between his index and middle fingers.
