Marty Roth
Great , and rare, example. Dad bought one - the identical (originally) black 1942 Stylemaster DeLuxe Sport Sedan model, well used - in 1950 - barely running, and with a maroon powder puff paint job. We hand stripped it and by early 1951 we had repainted in our own garage with a borrowed compressor - with 19 coats of hand-rubbed black lacquer, got a new short block from Sears, and I learned how to do a proper 3-angle valve job. The vacuum shift was a neat option, and the flattened shift knob always looked cool as Dad effortly shifted it between his index and middle fingers.
Marty Roth
Compared to this Chevy, the '41 Cadillac in Clinton, Iowa seems a genuine steal !
