1949 Ford sedan ignition switch.

The ignition switch fell out of the dash and I can't figure out how the bezel goes on to hold it in the dash. I tried to push it in and get the bezel on but it doesn't stay?  Car is a 49 Ford sedan

I'm going by memory, but I think there should be a spring between the switch and dash to hold tension on the bezel. Push on back of switch and twist.

Someone will along soon to give the real facts.

I have the switch in now but still trying to get the bezel on. Anyone? The paint is a 10 so No scratches allowed to get it back on the switch.

Update, turned the bezel where the end of the spring is between tabs and tapped with a rubber hammer slightly. The guy at Shoebox Central says that's how it's done. I guess this car is stubborn because nothing works. I just found out replacements are on back order.
