Tom Boehm
About 5 or more years ago there was a dealer in Texas trying to sell the wood body from a 1939 Cadillac woodie. This car was custom bodied in 1939 by Wildanger. It was red. The story was that some one started a restoration but lost the chassis somehow. Anybody out there know if it was eventually sold? The dealer was Pete's Classic Cars of Dallas. He was asking crazy money.
Shootey
It was a very cool car. It was low-slung since I think it was built a convertible sedan chassis and cowl. A couple of Wildangers were built on 1937 and 1938 Buick chassis but the wood bodies seemed to be too tall. The 1939 Cadillac Wildanger was just right. I don’t know of it’s whereabouts. Tom Boehm
,I agree about the body seeming too tall. I have seen the red one in person.
46 woodie
Same here, the area above the windshield looks very strange on the red Buick. Looks like the top is about 4" too tall. How does someone loose a chassis?
