decoding serial number

can I please get some help decoding a fargo truck serial number 90038146

 

ownership says 1945 ... owner thinks there is something wrong and it may be a 1946.

It might help if the make of the vehicle was mentioned. Near as I can tell that serial number was never used by Chrysler for US built cars.

It could be a 1945. Towards the end of the year trucks were made available on the civilian market for  commercial truckers, farmers etc. I have a 1945 GMC. The serial number should reveal the year. Do you  have a parts book ? They often have an I.D. page .
