Actually he answered within several hours but at the moment, no answer. I would like to send him my V12 coil but need new information about shipping and price. He's usually a very busy guy, so might take some effort to contact him. He's one of the few for Lincoln coil rebuilding and setup for the V12 distributors. And his water pumps are the best rebuilt for the V12. Since we lost Jake Fleming down in Dallas a while back it's not easy to find people with the equipment and know how to assist with these critical items to keep the cars running! Actually in 2020 I wanted to send Skip my coil but then came Covid-19 and with it the problems with oversea shipping. Then came Christmas and lots of parcels where around and I was afraid in to lose the coil in the package crowds. And again a year was gone… and now I have to do it because the Lincoln is made for driving. The only alternative I know to Skip is to use one of these conversion kits. But they look not really nice and are even more expensive than a repair incl. shipping. I will try it again with Skip. How can I make it via Ford Barn? E-Mail is the best way to contact him, he is very busy and does not monitor the Ford Barn Forums. He will make an occasional post on there. I just installed his rebuilt updated water pumps (bigger impellers) at $200 ea. They are working great. He told me he's doing the coils now. I think he said he learned from Skip on how to do them. I also installed two of his reworked condensers, they work great. I'm thinking about trying out one of his coils & also let him rework my spare distributor. Need to get this stuff while we can! So far been happy with Jerry's rebuilds. Todd Calder recommended him to me. All being LZOC members (I just recently re-joined after a long absence). He didn't want me to put the phone on "speaker" as he didn't think he would be able to hear as well. Also be conscious of the Massachusetts time zone! abelincoln Posted March 22, 2022 Share Posted March 22, 2022 If you can't find Skip, Philbin Manufacturing in Portland, OR, AKA "Flathead Doctor" fixes V-12 coils and distributors. .They fixed my distributor. Ray500 Posted March 30, 2022 Share Posted March 30, 2022 Skip helps all of us in need with the delicate repairs of the V12 engines. He seems to be one of the few remaining doing repairs. We lost Jake Fleming some time ago, and not many are picking up the trade as the demand might be waning from other times. If the V12s are to remain running properly the ignition systems will need further repairs and in some cases replacement. None of us are fans of Henry Ford for not simplifying the components and engineering of these engines, but they are the heart and soul of the Lincolns. The dozen or so years of their being installed in the vehicles speaks loudly of them, but those who own them also struggle in a time frame when few original parts are available. Back in that day and time at least there were car dealers and repair shops that supported them. So give Skip time to help you as he's probably overloaded! As you can see, here we have no one, who can repair these coils. I owned a 1912 Cadillac and two valve springs broke. Here was no company who wanted to make these springs. I found then “House of springs” in Wisconsin. Or got valves for our 1918 Hudson from Egge. Or ignition parts for the 1912 Cadillac by an old man who collected these old ignition parts. I have bought there around the year 2000. With Skip, I have waited now two years to send him the ignition coil… so I have no reason to rush him.
