Marty Roth
Previously bought for my former 1917 Franklin 9-A Touring: I have: two (2) distributor caps (Dome-shaped 4-1/8 inch OD) One appears NOS Other seems used but excellent one (1) rotor - may be new, may not, but excellent other related points and stuff These were bought back in the 1970s when I paid $150/each for the caps, $80 for the rotor, and cannot recall what for the other miscellany back then. Here it is nearly 50 years later. The car has been passed along to a new home 24 years ago, along with most related stuff. I just "found" these while searching for the step plates (still haven't found them). The parts are likely worth more than I paid for them, but I have no immediate use for them and will entertain REASONABLE offers, and I can bring them to Hershey. Marty Roth
This Atwater-Kent Distributor cap fits several other makes and models besides the Franklin. Can anyone share that information for the benefit of other collectors?
Peter R.
These are parts for a 6 cyl. Atwater Kent Type K-2 Unisparker distributor. Besides some factory installations K-2 distributors were often used as magneto replacements (running on dry cells if the car was not electrically equipped). Available for 4, 6 and 8 cyl. engines. The spring arm contact point was used on Atwater Kent distributor types K-2 and H as used on: 1915-19 Bell 1914 Briscoe 1914-16 Chalmers 1914-16 Commonwealth 1915-16 Enger AK replacements on Ford Model T's 1916-20 Franklin 1914-16 Grant Trucks 1916-18 Hollier 1914-16 Lexington 1915-17 Hupmobile 1914-16 Imperial 1914-17 King 1914-15 Paige Detroit 1916-17 Peerless 1916-17 Regal 1914-18 Saxon 1915-17 Scripps-Booth 1915 Velie 1
