1934 Buick spark plug tube liners 50 series?

When I was taking out my spark plusgs today I noticed the tube liners.  I investigated if there wrere correct.  I seen on Bob's Buicks catalog the tube liners he had for sale were for 80 and 90 Series.. Nothing mentioned about the 50 series which my engine is..  So I looked in the master parts book and I couldn't find any tube liners for a 50 series... What do you think is going on with this ..  Why are there tube liners on my 50 series.?   I notice when I was screwing out the plugs it would seem to bind in some spots. I don't know if these liners had anything to do with that..

There were 50 series tube liners in 1932 Buick engines.  I have no experience with engines beyond 1932.  I have never seen the tubes advertised for sale.  There is a procedure for removing the tubes. Let me know if you plan to removed them from the head and I will describe the procedure.

Thanks Bob..  What is the purpose for the tubes?  Are they necessary?

They are definitely necessary.  They prevent oil getting into the spark plug bases.   You can see the tube in the attached photo.

after removing my plugs I did notice some oil in the bottom of the tube..
