kreed Posted May 8, 2021 Share Posted May 8, 2021 Friend of mine has 63 Riviera . Speedometer works perfectly for 5-7 miles and then drops down to 0 until the car sits for a while . Starts back up and works for 5-7 miles. Assume this has to be a problem on the transmission side of the cable itself or more likely the gear in tranny that Cale connects to?. If so , next steps ? RivNut Posted May 9, 2021 Share Posted May 9, 2021 Ken, Does the odometer still work after the speedometer fails? If so, the problem is not in the transmission gear. Sounds like a magnet problem in the speedometer head. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
