Guest imported_pete324rock
If the "a" is smaller,it means that it has hardened seats....see www.classicoldsmobile.com and click on "tech" .I just found this site and wow! lots of info it seems. pete
imported_Badger Guy
I rebuilt a 455 from a 1969 Olds 98 for my 67 F/85. It has Ca heads on it. Nothing special. They had small valves and non hardened seats. My 72 H/O has Ga heads and my spare 455 I got from a 1972 Olds 98 both had small valves but hardened seats.Tom
joe_padavano
Olds used a small letter (such as the "A" on the CA heads) to designate a small running design change to an existing casting. I can't say that I've seen CA heads, but I've seen DA heads. Again, nothing special.
