Ray Garcia
I actually scanned this in a bit ago. I purchased some prewar sales lit at Hershey last fall and this and a similar period image of an Auburn were mixed in. Based on the recent Hemmings article on Velie, I'm thinking that this is one, but I've seen only two of the cars in person, the first one over thirty years ago and the second within the last few years in an HPOF lineup. nzcarnerd
Certainly looks like a Velie. They didn't use those lights for very long. Maybe 1920-21?? Sedans were expensive in that era. The Standard Catalog says the touring was $1885 and the sedan $2650.
Ray Garcia
I believe they were back to more conventional styling by 24-25. In the 1980's there was a 25/26 sedan not too far from here, as I recall a nice looking car, but not angular as the one in the picture.
AHa
I believe the pictured car is a 1922 Velie model 48. Velie used the angular styling for three years, 20,21,22, actually winning an award for the design, but in 1922 the radiator shell and headlight doors were nickle plated. These were great cars.
