DuBois
I’m not sure what this is used for. It’s located to the left of my brakes on 1966 AMC Ambassador
dustycrusty
windshield washer fluid pump. You stomp on it repeatedly to get some washer fluid to the glass, or, when the pump bulb ruptures ( due to old age dry rot), you pump it to soak your carpet! 2 1
DuBois
I would have never figured that out. Thanks. Also, thanks for the advice to clean my carpet when it fails 😂
8E45E
That pedal is a fulcrum that also operates a momentary-contact switch that turns on the wipers when its depressed. Studebaker and Dodge trucks used the same unit. On Studebakers, at least, the windshield washers with the rubber bulb only (no pedal) were standard, while the wiper operation with the pedal actuator was an option.
