Note: The Cadillac Series 61 returned for 1941 to replace LaSalle in the same price segment, generated a massive response by the public, 29,258 cars. Along with the Series 62, 63, 67, 75 and 60 Special, they were the culmination of General Manager Nicholas Dreystadt relentless seven year program to rationalize Cadillac to one chassis with Fisher bodies shared with other GM Divisions. In the process, he redefined what constituted the owner-driven American luxury car. Success was 66,168 1941 Cadillacs sold. For comparison, 1934, the year Dreystadt became General Manager, Cadillac and LaSalle combined sold 13,037 total.
