Mars Posted June 16, 2020 Share Posted June 16, 2020 1930 Desoto cf , I got the car running, new issue, the needle on the fuel gauge pegs over to full with the key on. Fossil Posted June 17, 2020 Share Posted June 17, 2020 Just finished installing an aftermarket fuel gauge and sending unit today. I wouldn't advise doing this. This one at least goes to full when the wire is disconnected form the sending unit. The float was missing off the original sending unit and the gauge itself is shorted to ground. Too bad because the instruments look great. On yours if I had to guess I'd say the wire from the gauge to the sending is broken or disconnected somewhere.
