Douglas Gilmore Brown
These two window regulators were in a lot of mostly Model A stuff I bought a few years ago. (As it is snowing here in Maine, with 2 inches on the ground, I'm cleaning out boxes of old stuff in the garage.). Douglas Day
Hi Doug, Doug here. Also in Maine. The boys at P & K Speed Shop in Rockport are doing a favor for me and me for them. Kelly needs a shop to Pour and bore the babbitts for a 1929 Model A Ford. Where are you? Who do we know who knows what to do on this project? Thanks, Doug Day, in Camden
Douglas Day
OK, Freedom, 44 minutes away. Great. Who do we know who is good at a Pour and Bore project with an indented babbitt and a few other interesting details.
Douglas Day
Heck, you may even be related to Phil Brown. While we are at it I also need Glen Brown, ace-boat mechanic. my number is 207-449-9693 in case you got all the Browns in your pocket. Thanks, Doug Day needing diesel troubleshooter to find fuel leak on Westerbeke 46 on my sailboat. Doug Day
Douglas Gilmore Brown
George Sprowl of Searsmont has been very skillfully restoring old Fords since the mid 1960's. If he doesn't do rebabbiting, he would know somebody who does.
Douglas Day
Thanks, Doug. Will ask him. Appreciate the tip. Doug Day, Camden
Douglas Day
And Doug, if you can find a number for George, I'd appreciate it. Best I can do is leave my number at the store next to his house. Thanks, Doug Day, Camden
Mark Wetherbee
Last engine I had done was by George King in Connecticut, but I think he retired... drove down from Stockton Springs. Do you know Warren Kincaid who is the treasure of the Downeast Model T club and works at Owls Head Transportation Museum? He lives in Rockland and most certainly will know who is trustworthy doing Babbitt. I would have suggested Herm Kohnke in Iowa but he sadly passed away not too long ago... Good Luck! Mark Wetherbee
Another good contact would be Pete Reny in North Vassalboro, he is an A guy and should have a contact somewhere. if you need numbers I’ll see if I can find them, just PM me.
