TTR
Does anyone here recognize this box by casting numbers “30313 # 2” ? What make/model car(s)/truck(s) it might’ve been originally used in ? The one pictured is not in OE application, but I’d like to find a (NOS or good used) “spare” or gears/shafts. Also, any recommendations for parts and/or service suppliers ? TTR
No one ? How about suggestions for some knowledgeable/reputable (vintage) steering box rebuilder or some one with cross reference information/literature on these ? I was told the unit is likely from some pre-war Chrysler Corp. passenger car or small truck. Any leads appreciated.
PFitz
That beveled-edge flat top shape and the five digit casting number, look like early 30's Gemmer. Picture of a 34000 double roller Gemmer used in some 32 Franklins below. Some Pierce-Arrows used a similar one. But what the application is I haven't a clue. Is there more info elsewhere on the casting ? Member "Odat" rebuilds them. You might try pm-ing him.
