Guest
Hi, I think the motor is gone in my 1965gs convertible and don't currently have the$$$ to fix it, is there a way to make it manual so that I can at least put it up for the winter until I have the cash to fix it right...Thanks...rich.tobin@db.com. Ted "Wildcat65" Nagel
Back when I was 16, I did the same thing- just unbolted the ends of the cylinders and flipped it up and down easily. Had it down most of the time-even in the snow(busy proving how stupid I could be).Enjoy,
Guest
Hi, there is a connecting rod from the top cyclinders on each side that are behind the rear interior quarter. You can disconnect them where they connect to the top frame above the rear quarter window.
caGSxlr8
Just as the above posts stated, remove the bolts that hold the cylinders to the top frame. The top will be very heavy..........it may take two people to put it up.. Good luck....
Guest brh
You know you might be low on fluid. My friends 64 Olds 98 just needed hydraulic fluid. If the motor is not making any noise it may be dead or its just not getting juice. Just 2 cents. That top is going to be heavy.
Guest
Are you saying you have to remove the rear interior panels on each side in order to gain access to the bolts on the cylinders?
