trimacar Posted May 30, 2019 Share Posted May 30, 2019 My '53 Chevy five window was worn out, so we took it down to the frame and started over. The expensive way to do it, but the correct way, of course. I now have a running chassis, once we install the steering and the cab (which is being stripped now to put in primer) will have a good part of a truck! The bright stuff on the engine is a Wayne dress-up kit, side plate and valve cover. Fun stuff.... 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Thanks, most of the credit goes to a good friend who's restored numerous early trucks. I can tell you, as receipts get added up, if you want a 50's pickup, buy a restored one and pay the note at the bank. That said, it's fun to watch it come together, and know every piece is "as new", no shortcuts and no "it's good enough as is".
