Captain Corey Clark
It is the oil filter/pressure guage spliter. I sacked the threads out but it is still attached in the motor somehow
Jim Bourque
Drop the pan. It will be obvious as to what is attached.
Hubert_25-25
This is what it looks like on the inside of my 1925 Buick. The tube comes from the oil pump (not shown). So you have a brass tube with sleeve tube nuts on each end. One end attaches to the underside of that oil pressure Y fitting. Hugh
Jim Bourque
If it is like Hugh’s picture, I would not screw it back into the block. The fitting inside will probably be loose or the tube will be cracked and will dump oil directly back to your sump reducing the oil pressure.
Hubert_25-25
I agree with Jim. No loss to drop the pan as you will likely find that the pan needs cleaning out anyway. Lots of us find the screen pick up has a hole in it. The tubing in particular is very susceptible to cracking. It is not like today's copper. If you do need some 5/16 tubing, let me know as I should have some left over after replacing my fuel line. I found some good quality tubing, but had to buy it in a 25' roll. You will need a line wrench for the fitting inside the block. Since that unscrewed outside the block, then the only way to tighten it is to drop the pan. It would be nice if there were a way to pressure check it. Hugh
