Guest
I am going to be repainting my 1930 Lincoln custom body. In considering colors I have seen many 1920's and 30's cars with metallic paint, is this acceptable or should I stick to non-metallic paints?. Also what is considered the first year of metallic paints?Mike
Guest
if you are having the paint custom mixed then u can request as much metallic as u want. A little or alot. I'm not sure what year the metallics cameout but i'm guessing about early 1960's.
Guest
come to think of it, my 56 Packard has metallic paint but it is very subtle.
Restorer32
Actually metallics were available in the early 30's. Can't seem to locate my judges manual, it speaks directly to this point.
Rick Hoover
It was November 1, 1927. (According to the judges manual.) Rick
